Dan,
Thank you for doing this web site with Jana. It is a very nice memorial. As you know, I was her final massage therapist. I regret not being the healer for her. She was a kine and gentle person who always had a positive attitude. I miss her visits and the opportunity to bring her some comfort. However, she is certainly more comfortable now than she was while here with us. I am grateful for knowing her.

This is the most beautiful memorial...embedded with the tremendous love, creativity and passion of your adventurous life. Jana was first my favorite and most inspiring Sociology professor at SDSU, then a dear friend and founding board member of our non-profit, Sun & Moon Vision Productions, that focused on social justice documentaries. It was through our shared interests, that I was introduced to an editor and the new man in her life, Dan. I fondly remember her telling me about this man she met in her apartment complex, and how tickled she was with those first awkward conversations, and how later that same month, her office was decorated with beautiful black and white portraits that gave the impression that the two had been together for a lifetime. Dan, I cannot imagine the depth of loss you are enduring at this time, but remain confident that your time together continues, as always. Please keep in touch with Becky and I...I sincerely regret not spending more time with you both. My conversations with Jana were always easy, no matter how much time passed between us--I do wish I had been able to get a hold of her a few months ago when I was thinking of her. She will be in my thoughts when I look to the stars shining down on us. Much love and peace.

Jim and Pat,

Though we did not know Jana, we know how much you love her and will miss her. We hope your sorrow will quickly give way to dwelling on the wonderful memories you have of her and the ways she enriched your lives.

Dear Jim and Family,
I'm really sorry to hear about your Daughter. We both know that she is now in a better place. I know how much pain her passing away caused you sorrow and grief, and I found it extremely difficult for anyone to lose their loved ones.
Your daughter will always be with you; her spirit and good will be part of you no matter where you go. I know you loved her dearly and I know you will miss her terribly.

Those we love don't go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.

Jim, I didn't know Jana but after reading about her life and how she dealt with her illness I certainly admire her. Cancer has taken far too many of our friends and family and I can't imagine what it must be like to lose one's child. Audrey and I both send our sympathy.

Dear Jim and Patricia,

Beverly and I are saddened by your loss. She must have been that rare human spirit who lives vividly in the memories of others. You surely played a role in that achievement. You are in our thoughts -

Don
