Last Vacation

Jana and I took our last trip together to Las Vegas in July 2009. Both of us were avid fans of mixed martial arts, and we planned to attend UFC 100, a milestone event in combat sports. On the drive there Jana placed a fortuitous call to a friend named Bill Crawford, who owns a series of fight gyms in San Diego and Arizona, to let him know what we were up to. He knew of Jana's recent cancer diagnosis and offered a once in a lifetime opportunity: to go behind the scenes and meet a few of her favorite figthers. One more call to a woman named Gazzy and we had backstage passes to the most exciting event in MMA history. It was a truly special weekend.
